In the 18th and 19th centuries, a lover’s eye was worn close to the heart — a tiny painted gaze meant to protect a secret romance. But The Serpent’s Devotion carries a darker vow. Encircling the watchful eye is the ouroboros, the ancient serpent that devours its own tail, symbolizing love that loops endlessly through time… and beyond it.
This piece whispers of clandestine affection, Victorian mourning rituals, and the kind of devotion that refuses to die. A single, unblinking eye bound by an eternal serpent — a promise that what is loved is never truly lost.
On an 30 inch rosary style chain. Made with stainless steel and black glass beads made to look like traditional Victorian mourning jewelry, it is designed to hang long. Handmade.
