Here's a short bio about the original owner, Celia Hacker
Celia grew up in Quincy, IL. in the early 1900s. She was the youngest of five sisters and two brothers and always had an interest in dress design. She attended the McDowell School of Costume Design in New York City from around 1919 to 1922 and worked in one of the city's Fifth Ave. dress shops. She also worked in Chicago for a time. Her daughter, Charlotte Smith also enjoyed sewing and working with different textiles but focused more on quilt making. Charlotte owned The Patchworks Quilt Shop in Fargo and was the first president of the North Dakota Quilters Guild.
