1950's Elizabeth Arden Rouge Pot

If you'd like to learn a bit more about Elizabeth Arden, head over to the post we did about her below!

HERE

I love fun tidbits and this brand/ Elizabeth Arden pot has a connection to the film goddess Marilyn Monroe!

First, let's describe this little pink pot of joy!

This little pink pot (in its prime) had gold embossing around the top of the lid (can still be faintly seen) and on the bottom are the words "Elizabeth Arden London Paris New York" representing all of her locations.

There are usually little gold stickers on the bottom of the pots stating what the shade is, so since the sticker on this one is missing, I do not know the exact shade, but from what we can see it's a Peachy Pink color! This rouge is such a lovely and natural color for the cheeks!

I've seen these little pots before and loved how pink and dainty they were especially with the scalloped edges! I recently came across a Pinterest post showing a photo of Marilyn Monroe's makeup kit that currently resides at the Ripley's Believe It or Not! in Hollywood, California.

I noted a little pink, scalloped edge, pot that looked very familiar and when I zoomed in it was an Elizabeth Arden eyeshadow pot turned upside down. I couldn't find mention of it on any lists of the items, but it's well notated that Marilyn Monroe used a lot of Elizabeth Arden cosmetics especially when she lived in New York City from 1954-1958 and lived next door to the Elizabeth Arden store.

I'd love to get my hands on an actual eyeshadow pot, but it's so amazing to be able to connect these items to someone in history. It makes them seem more real!
