1930's Metallic Thread Embellished Dress Collar

Another stunning example of textile artistry!

This 1930's piece is a collar that was detached from a destroyed women's dress. Made of a silvery blue, Silk Bengaline and embroidered with metallic thread, or what was commonly referred to as 'lurex'.

Navette cut glass beads adorn the embroidery for an added touch of luxury.

Due to age the metal thread has tarnished over time and caused discoloration to the fabric. Can you imagine what the entire garment must have looked like?
